WOOLWORTHS. 100 years
Woolworths celebrated 100 years business with events at multiple venues @ Sydney Olympic Park. Inside “The Dome” venue The Dome Company provided 7 domes. A 20m, and 18m, 2 x 15m, 2 x 10m (one of which was a full-dome cinema) and a 6.5m.
Challenge
To erect 7 large domes in 2 days.
The 20m dome was supplied and erected by HeadFirst Acrobats. The other 6 domes were supplied and erected by The Dome Company.
The take down of all domes had to be done in 24 hours.
Solution
Multiple crews were employed to build and take down the larger domes concurrently.
The 18m and 20m domes need 8 – 10 hours to build and the 15m domes up to 7 hours.
All internal fit out of the domes was done by others.
Setup and execution
The Dome Company utilised our proprietary lifting equipment to erect the larger domes without the need for cranes or boom or scissor lifts.
Different themes were executed in each of the 7 domes.
Outcome and benefits
5000 Woolworth’s employees attended the event. A sit down lunch was provided for 1300 people in The Dome.
